Hickory Dickory Dock

The mouse went up the clock....
In our case the mouse went up the wall
to the shelf
to feast on Cat Kibble.
I realize that my version does not rhyme, but still tells the story.
I find it rather amusing that we have four cats and the mouse still thinks this is the house to have its little party.
To give the mouse some credit, the only cat that seems to have taken an interest in pursuing the little varmint is Napoleon. He has taken up a vigil next to the refrigerator.
Rebel will not leave the comfy confines of his new box.

Hubs has finished the roof of the garage.

This means that a place where I am finally able to paint is coming closer.

Little Reno is growing bigger and managing to get into all the little places I had no idea existed. I wonder if he invited the mouse to partake in a Kibble feast.

It looks like he is trying to hatch a plan with the ferret.

My Mom in law brought over a lovely pepper plant. I love plants and flowers. I just do not have any luck keeping them alive. I find it really difficult to protect them from our serial gardener, Napoleon.

At least I have a picture to remember the before shot.

There is way too much noise going on downstairs for one little cat. I'm off to investigate.
I hope you all have a great day!

Hallowe'en

This year I helped the Caped Crusader navigate through our little town and enjoy some trick or treating.

He was quite the hit with the town.

We even managed to shell out some treats for the kiddies with help from an aging rocker.

Our little entourage received quite a few looks.

Since this is my holiday week, I was able to visit with a friend.
Unfortunately, I was quite ill.
Nothing says thank you for having me in your home like preforming a technicolour yawn.
However, we did make Whole Wheat Apple Nut Bread with a bread maker.
Have you seen these things? They are amazing little machines. It's my ideal way to cook anything.
Put things in a machine and walk away for four hours.
I love it!

When I arrived home this was waiting for me:

This might make some pretty interesting socks.

On a completely different note:
Has anyone noticed how awesome television is becoming?
Television programs have pretty much evolved into mini-movies. It's great. At one point, the highlight for most people was to watch a bunch of strangers battle it out on an island. Adult version of Gilligan's Island with a game strategy thrown in. Then there were the decades of talk shows and soaps. The occasional comdey, but nothing really OMG! We have to watch the next episode. T.V. was meh.
Now we have zombies, electronic apocalypse, Sci-fi, bikers, para-normal and everything in between.
What is your current favourite?
I'm going to continue my cross stitch and watch Project Runway.
Hope you all survived Hallowe'en.
Cheers!

I Actullay Cooked a Chicken....

.....But there are no pics. I was too nervous to remember to take photos.
We celebrated a very quiet Thanksgiving. Just the five of us. Mom-in-Law joined our merry little party.
On the table were coleslaw, carrots, peas, mashed potatoes, dressing (stuffing), gravy, cranberry sauce and the chicken. All of which I made/prepared myself. I am pleased to note, there was not much left over. I figured it was a good little feast if the kiddos ate it without complaint. They even complimented me between mouthfuls!
Everything else has been rather quiet over here.
It was a very nice fall day yesterday so I got my butt in gear and actually planted tulips.

The before shot of my shoes...

And the after...

While I was playing in the dirt,

Hubs was working on the roof of the garage.

80 bulbs were buried!

Sort of looks like a weird burial site eh?

Little Reno is also growing quite a bit.

He is even learning to share,

That is MY bed Mister..

Now we go Trick or Treating?!?!

He is a difficult image to capture.

I'm off to sleep before work tonight.
Hope everything is good with you and yours!
Cheers!

Perhaps a Good Scrubbing.

I have been watching this television show called Revolution. An apocalypse comes about. The world has lost all of its electricity. No internet, lights, television, planes, vehicles etc. The population has to re-educate itself on survival again.
This got me wondering. Maybe we might benefit from some sort of extreme power loss. Maybe we would be cleansed of disease and pollutions. I am sure that it would be an intense hardship. A lot of life would be loss after the huge Earth cleanse. I like what was mentioned in Stephen King's The Stand. The Glen Bateman character said something to the effect that after the apocalypse, people will still die off in somewhat large numbers out of stupidity. People will have to learn how to store food effectively. What wild things can be eaten in relative safety.
I would like to think that I would be able to survive and function adequately. I think I would fair better in this electric apocalypse than a zombie one.

Autumn Crispness

Hubs took the mini humans apple picking the other week. They brought home this monstrous fruit that is about the size of the youngest's head!
Since I have this thing about posting pictures of minor's on the internet, I will post a picture of the fuzzy child so you can get a relative idea of the size of these apples.

Reno is really unsure what to make of these red/green objects.

These do not smell like kibble.

When in doubt, run!

I have made a fair bit of progress on my cross stitch.

Since my cross stitch does not travel very well, I have been working on my Mittens over my lunch period at work.

These are my Day of The Dead Mittens.

We have found this wine in our little liquor store.

We tried the Chardonnay the other week. It was amazing, especially with the seafood pasta I made. We will try this Bougelais sometime this evening.

This is the new song I have had stuck in my head for about two weeks.

I liked the appearance that Psy made on Ellen the other week. Ellen suggested that Brittany Spears might want to take off her heels. How can she dance Gangnam Style in those shoes?
Psy said, No, no. The shoes are good. Gangnam Style is all about dressing classy and dancing cheezy.
I love that idea because that is pretty much how I roll. The other idea I can get behind is that yellow suit you see the other gentleman wearing at the end of the video. Where can we find suit?
