Hi Everyone!

I hope you are all well.
My family and I have been enjoying a much needed holiday.
We all managed to book the same two weeks and have been trying to relax and not think too hard.
So far, our mission has been successful.
Most of our time has been spent outside on our deck.
Jackie approves this much needed time outside.

We have recently taken up bird watching.
If you would have asked me when I was younger about things I would probably enjoy doing as I "matured", I doubt looking at birds and gardening would have made the top ten.

We noticed that we have had quite a few feathery visitors and it peaked our interest.
A fair bit on researching, (i.e. google) led us to learn about some of the food they enjoy.
Quick trip ensued to a few hardware and home improvement stores in search of various feeds and feeders.
It is still a work in progress of trial and error but, oh, so much fun!
We seem to have found a few types of seed that they enjoy.
I am not sure what they are all called but they are all remarkably beautiful and have very distinct personalities.

A few feathered species are easily recognizable. Here are a few of the photos we have managed to capture:

This little fellow was tucked up in our gazebo listening attentively to our conversation. He is a bit difficult to see in the photo. I have no idea how long he was there. Jackie was just staring at this one spot, not saying a word. Finally I clued in. He eventually tired of us and flew away to more interesting happenings.

I also celebrated a birthday recently.

My parents came down for a visit. They spoiled all their grandchildren, fuzzy and human, and had a wonderful time.
There is some construction happening across the street from our place. They are building a residence of some sort. My step-dad was greatly entertained by all the comings and goings. He just really enjoys a lot of action and conversation, regardless of the language. As long as you stand there long enough for him to tell you whatever story he is continuing from previous conversations with other people, (no, you have no idea who these people are; no, this is a whole new thread from a conversation in another province, he is happy. Might get a bit confusing, but entertaining nonetheless.

I have not really been knitting too much. It was a bit warm and I was afraid to felt my socks. It is supposed to be cooler tomorrow. I might get back to my work in progress later in the week.

I have been painting and drawing.
This is what my little workshop looks like at the moment:

It is wonderfully cool, bright and airy when I open the window.

Here are a few of my paintings in drawings:

I have a few more, but, I have not had any devices close by to photograph them.
I might do that tomorrow. This to do list is getting quite large.

It is getting a bit late.
I'm going to enjoy a drink on the deck and watch the fireflies.
I hope you are well.
If you have any suggestions for paintings or drawings, I would love to hear them.
Have a good night!
Take care. :)
