I`ve gone to work for three days now and I am really enjoying the experience. It is overwhelming as there is so much information that many people are trying to explain to me in French and in English. Night shift truly agrees with me. It fits in with my natural sleep schedule. My clients are doing their best to teach me various phrases. My boyfriend`s children are also trying to teach a few words as well. They are super great kids. I just hope they are teaching me the proper words. :P The cats are adjusting nicely. I think Rebel is trying to explain to his new fuzzy brother how best to deal with Napoleon. It really looked like they were having a tete a tete the other evening. I have an additional body following me into the washroom as well. I now have a full staff of cat body guards.
We had one wicked rainstorm yesterday. The normal two feet rivers became ten and I`m not even exaggerating. If my camera would only make an appearance, I would show you.
There are still a ton of boxes to go through. It is like Christmas for the children. They have no idea what will pop out of the next box. How can one grown woman have so many comics, video games and consoles?
I have three more shifts of work than I`m off for two days. Maybe then I can sort out the rest of my boxes. Have a great Friday night everyone.

I'm Here......
Seven hundred kilometers, seven driving hours, two screaming cats, two vehicles and a one very excited driver later I am home. What a trip and a half. It really is all quite a blur. My boyfriend and I picked up the U-Haul trailer Saturday morning. For some reason they did not have the 5 x 8' trailer I had initially reserved and asked if I would be ok with a 6 x 12. Sure, not a problem, especially since it is the same price. Can never have too much room. Am I ever glad fate intervened. We needed all that space and then some. Who knew that such a tiny apartment could house so much stuff. It is not even knick knacks and dust collectors. It is actually things that I use on a somewhat regular basis and really enjoy. I did a major clean up the first time I moved. I gave away or threw out things I hadn't used in over six months. We even tossed out my mattress set. The way I see it, I would much rather start new memories on a new bed. Thank goodness the boyfriend enjoys puzzles and is very puzzled. I have no idea how he managed to fit everything into that trailer. There was not an inch of space left when he was finished, not even for a pillow. Trust me. I tried to fit one in.
We stopped at my parents for Easter dinner that night. Except dinner was over. After we completed the puzzle and sorted out where the cats would fit, we didn't actually get to leave Acton until almost 19h00s. We arrived at Mom's at 21h30s. I had to drive slower than I'm used to on that 401 highway. The trailer had an odd distribution of weight. If I drove over 82kms/hr, it would really swing. At one point it must have looked really bad. All I could see in one of my mirrors was my boyfriend's eyes growing as big as saucers. I think he went through a lot of smokes on that trip. That was actually the first time Rebel and Napoleon were quiet.
I actually slept quite well that night. My shoulders were a little tired though. I'm really not used to towing anything. I have driven large vehicles before, but they were all one solid unit. I didn't have to worry about the back wheels following.
We saw some great country. There is a high way we drove from Peterborough to Montreal that is very scenic. If I knew where my camera was and I didn't need two hands on the wheel, I would have taken a ton of pictures. The screaming was also quite distracting. The only scenery that remained constant was the 'U' and 'L' in either of my side mirrors.
We arrived home at 19h00 and just took the basics into the house. We had a bit of supper and then took in a few boxes. The kids came back after being with their Mom all week end. We all sort of looked at each other for. We are all shy, unsure what to say. This will improve. Napoleon took to his new home rather quickly. He is still looking for mischief. Rebel is a little more slow. As long as he has his kibble and somewhere to sleep where no one will bother him, he is good to go. There is a cat here, Tom and a ferret, Fwin. I have no idea how to spell Fwin's name yet. That is what is sounds like when I hear it said.
I started training for my new job yesterday morning. There was a lot of information that entered my head. I'm not worried though. It is what I used to do before I became a bus driver. The people I will be working with are very kind and patient. I do not have any doubt that I will pick things up quickly. The best part is that it is night shift. My vampire hours can continue!!! This shift also seems to work well withe the routine of the family.
When I arrived back home and my boyfriend returned from work, we dropped off that trailer. I suspect even my truck was happy to be rid of that blasted thing. No more weird shaking or braking system! No longer seeing a 'U' and 'L' in my mirrors.
All of my things are now in the home. We just have to figure out where to put things. Opening up all the boxes is like Christmas. I can't remember what I packed where. I labeled them as best I could, but due to lack of time they are vague labels. It is a good thing the kids enjoy the surprise. They have been a huge help. I'm also happy to report that so far, nothing has been broken.
I am happy to be home. It is a lot of new and I'm excited for the first time in a long time to see where this path leads.
Hope you all had a happy Easter.

This is a Familiar Sight!
..But the feelings are so much better.
Everywhere you turn at my place this is what you see:

Boxes absolutely everywhere!!
The cats are not amused by the obstacle course.

Rebel pretty much remains on the bed. Poor old guy. The path he could navigate before is now missing and replaced with more boxes. He is not a happy camper.

Rebel and Napoleon are definitely making this adventure interesting. Every time I try to place articles in a box, I have move 20-30 pounds of cat first. I'm trying very hard not to pack them in a box.
At least time I want to move. Well actually, I wanted to move this time last year but it wasn't on my own time. My actions were being governed by circumstances by which I was none too pleased. I have very high hopes for this move. It is just all the little things that causing slight hiccups. For instance, can I pack this now or will I need it in the next few days? Am I able to buy a loaf of bread without having to transport it six hours across the province? Did Rebel just throw up there? Did Napoleon abscond with the tape gun again? Little thoughts like these are making this week very interesting.
I'm off to purchase more packing tape and see if I can rustle up a few more boxes. Happy Sunday everyone!!!

Holy Crapizoid Batman!!
So I have been busy. Quite busy. :D
It is a lot of new. I've been working on this post for a few days now. I'm trying to get straight in my head.
Maybe I should start at the beginning? It has been rumoured that is a very good place to start.
Sometime in November, I started talking with someone on Facebook of all places. He has the same name as me minus an "n", which I pointed out. So we chatted back and forth for a while. We clicked.
We visited each others homes back and forth. This is not exactly an easy feat as he lives in another province six hours away.
Fast forward a little bit.....
In two weeks I will moving to another province, with another language, new additional family members. I am even switching career paths. I am returning to what I used to do prior to what I do now. Confusing sentence yes, I know.
Tonight after work I am reserving a U-Haul. I have started to gather my things together for packing. At least this time it should go more quickly than the last time I moved. I cut down on a lot of stuff the first time. I am little overwhelmed. Actually, I'm a lot overwhelmed. I am actually coming down with a cold. That happens to me when everything seems to be spinning so fast. After plans have been made and I know what needs to be accomplished, I get sick. Everything will work out in the end. That has been my motto for the past few weeks.
I finally told my parents I would be relocating in a few weeks. They were surprised to put it mildly. While I was away for the week end, they telephoned my place several times. The first message they actually left was 20 minutes of them having a conversation of whether they had the correct the number. Napoleon had yanked the cord out of the wall and I didn't bother to re record anything. I just let the automatic voice do the magic.
Step Dad: That does not sound like Jocelynn
Mom: Is it a male voice? Maybe it's her friend?
Step Dad: I don't know
Mom: Does it have an accent?
Step Dad: No
Mom: Maybe we have the wrong number
Step Dad: Should we leave a message?
Mom: Not if it isn't the right number
Click. End of Message.
Two minutes later:
Message left on machine after a very long pause....
Jocelynn? It's your mother. Call us.
It always sounds like she is being held hostage somewhere when Mom leaves me a message. If my machine wasn't so old school, I'd figure out how to play it for you all.
The UHaul people were very nice and helpful. They showed me what sort of bar thing I needed to attach my truck so I can tow one of their trailers. Apparently I have a class 3 hitch? or maybe it's a receiver. I'm not sure. At any rate, it's a good hook up thing that I have on the back of my truck. At some point I will venture into Canadian Tire and locate that device they showed me. I am in uncharted waters for this adventure. I'm learning all sorts of terms and phrases. I may even learn how to correctly apply them in a sentence.
I'm not sure what else to say at this point. My coffee is finished so I am going to go out and get some cold medicine, tape gun, tape, hitch thingy and breakfast.
See you all later. :D

Something Else in the Works
Since I have completed my scarf/shawl:

I started working on another little project...

Yes. At times I do actually measure gauge!

My creative director is on hand to assist me with whatever tasks arise:

It will be some sort of article of clothing. That is all the detail I will divulge for now.
When I left earlier this afternoon to hunt for some supplies, there was actually grass visible. I returned in this:

Happy Spring in Canada.
I'm going to continue to work on my project and watch the remaining episodes of Fringe. Hope you are all staying warm and enjoying the last minutes of the week end. Night everyone :)

Sooooo......
.........I introduced the boyfriend to my parents last week end. Maybe that is why it has taken me so long to write anything. I'm still trying to recuperate. On the way up to their house, he was wondering what he would say. I knew it would be interesting if he would be able to get a word in edgewise. I was not wrong. I think he may have said ten words, but don't hold me to that.
Poor fellow was bombarded by interesting by true facts. They politely opened the conversation with my step father staring at him and my Mom trying to explain a little about herself. I thought, ok, this is going well. This is what normal people talk about when they are getting to know each other. That lasted eight minutes. They switch topics to orthotic supports and took off their shoes to show what proper support should look like. They recommended who he needed to see should he require orthotic support at any point in his life.
Next topic of conversation was about neighbours. Good fences make good neighbours. My parents have a peeping tom neighbour that like hides behind their hedges in the backyard and well, peep. Part of me is hoping that is not true. The other part of me realizes that no one can make this stuff up and I just go with it.
That whole visit is really such a blur. I was quite nervous about everything. It's silly. I'm 30 something and still would like my parents approval at times. Dinner was excellent. It went rather smoothly. I am pleased.
I've been working on my Hitchhiker scarf.

I love it!!
This is a closer look:

I've only been able to work on this scarf on my lunch hour so it is not going very quickly, but I am really enjoying the process.
I've been looking for a second job. I've been dropping off applications and filling out resumes for the past few weeks. I'd just like to try and get ahead for a little while. I'm surviving on what I make now, but I would like to be a comfier spot. So far it seems rather disappointing but I know that eventually, if I continue to drop off applications and resumes, something will come about.
Now I'm trying to drown the noises of my neighbours. The ones upstairs are fighting really loudly. The ones next door are getting busy. o_O
I think I'll just catch up on my remaining episodes of Fringe and turn up the volume a little louder.
Have a great week end everyone!

Something in Progress
Sexy Gargoyle
1
Why must we continue this ceaseless waiting? I grow wearier every night by these bullocks.
We are not waiting silly little man. We are watching, as we were instructed to do.
Her long violet painted nails tucked a loose strand of black hair under her hood. She had dressed for the weather. It had been snowing all day and with the sun down, it grew increasingly cold. Her companion was nervous. Waiting, as he put it, always made him nervous. He had this theory that waiting was nothing. If you were nothing, you were as good as dead.
They had traveled by the speed of light to this strange region. The counsel instructed them to watch and wait for their say on the next step. It was always this way. She was only given one command at a time. It could be hours or years before the next notice. She was actually hoping for years. She liked this strange place. It was filled with danger, misery, and happiness. So strange were the customs of this land. Women were as unique as stars. All shapes, sizes and costumes. She actually blended in this region, and easily at that. Her companion however, not so much. He stood at mere four feet. His fiery mane and beard made him stick out in a crowd like an albino in the night. He was her best friend and the only one in all the lands who knew who she was and her purpose. She did not even know her purpose or origins. He never questioned her actions. He followed orders, even if he did not like them and always voiced his thoughts whether crude or civil. She wouldn’t have it any other way. He was the only one she trusted. She did not even trust the counsel. They did not have any aura about them. That was normally a bad sign. She was told that it was not a problem as they were not living. Only the living could cast auras. Until she could prove her theory, she took that one as it was…..for the time being.
We should do something. We should attend one of those revelries that I hear so often. Look at those humans down there in that line. Does that not look like fun to you?
No not really.
The only difference between what they are doing and us is that they are laughing. We are merely guarding. Let us think of it as learning about our environment.
They are only faking. Those creatures down there are only playing a game of which no one knows the rules.
That sounds familiar.
On second thought, that does sound appealing.
This sounds like a victory to my ears. C’mon.
With that, the little man jumped the 20 stories to the concrete below to join in the festivities of the youth he saw from above.
The raven haired creature let out a sigh and contemplated her options.
I can wait here until the sun shines.
I can join the freak and learn about humans.
I can wait until I get a communication from the law officials to collect a drunken dwarf.
Hmmm. Party on.
She made her way down the fire escape of the abandoned building that they were using as a form of residence. It was the perfect dwelling. No one knew it was being habited. The dreary outside was the complete opposite to what they referred to inside as home. It gave her cause to smile as she made her way down to the ground level. She was not in such a hurry to plummet to the concrete as her companion.
When she reached the bottom, she saw him enter the dwelling with a tall blonde on one arm and a brunette on the other. Such a ladies man, she thought and grinned.
She approached the tall figure guarding the door.
He studied her closely then removed the rope barrier that was holding back the throng.
No wonder this planet needs guarding from my kind if all it takes is a smile to get past their trained officials.
It took her eyes moments to adjust the darkness.
Now where is that troublesome dwarf, she questioned.
She did not have to search long. In the midst of a large crowd came his oh too familiar voice shouting out the words to the song that was heard overhead. How he had managed to know the lyrics to something he just hear, was beyond her scope. Knowing his whereabouts made it easier for her to relax and study her surroundings. The light was very poor. There were all sorts of bodies gyrating to the beat of the music that the main control funneled through the speakers overheard. It was quite amazing that the noise could not be heard from outside. The general age of the group appeared to be approximately twenty-five. All of which were trying very hard to be mysterious with war paint and shiny dark outfits. There were various metal objects protruding out of their bodies. All appeared to be somewhat inebriated on one sort of substance or other. At the north end of the establishment was a bar, the source for the majority of their drunkenness. The aura’s surrounding many of the youth told the lady that many were chemically induced by a vile concoction. This is a common occurrence amongst all planets I reckon.
As Lady looked around, she could see males and females exchanging DNA in various forms. All appeared to be enjoying themselves. Appearances can be rather deceiving. The majority of the humans all had the same light shining underneath their drunkenness. They all were looking for a common element. Apparently, humans require constant companionship.
I will take what is on tap please sir.
At her request the man stationed at the bar, cleaned out a glass and with a smile handed her a foaming substance.
I’ll take care of that.
She turned to the voice. It belonged to a red haired smiling female. She had very white teeth framed by black lips.
That is quite unnecessary.
It is, but it gives me pleasure to do so.
My name is Mike. And you are…….
Mike sounds strangely masculine. Perhaps your dress has misled my senses?
No hun. I’m 100% female, with masculine tendencies if you know what I mean?
I am not terribly sure. You mean hunter as opposed to gatherer?
Mike let out a very loud guffaw.
Perhaps you do know more that you let on. I like you. Come with me.
With that, Mike turned on her spiked silver heels and began moving to a staircase.
Examining Mike more closely, she wore a similar outfit to that of Lady. Interesting, she thought. Why not, thought Lady. Lady proceeded to follow Mike up the stairs.
This is where the VIP’s hang out, Mike explained. From this view, we can see all who enter the club and decide who is worth our time.
Who does “our” encompass?
Who? Why, myself and all of my associates. We are many. I have watchers located in most of the recesses of this miserable little planet. For example, we have been watching you perched like a sexy gargoyle on our neighbour’s roof for the past week.
Hmmmm. That sounds similar to a collection of people I already know.
My, my, how interesting, laughed Mike. So tell me my new pet, what is the name you go by?
I do not “go” by any name.
That is unacceptable. We must call you by some name. Perhaps I may choose one for you?
That is not necessary pretty lady. Laughed the dwarf.
So the Dwarf can negotiate stairs, thought Lady.
I call her Lady. It suits her. And you should show her some respect you common harlot. Has the woman harmed you in any way Lady?
No need to be testy little man. I was merely playing, cooed Mike. Such an interesting little fellow. You amuse me. I should like to keep you.
I am quite well my friend. Mike has been explaining to me how far her reach travels.
Uh huh. I bet. I don’t like that reach traveling far. The sun is on the way Lady. We should make our way homeward.
Home? Now? Are you vampires? You should stay here, with us. Enjoy our hospitality a little longer.
Thank you kindly Mike. Perhaps another time. My companion is correct. We must take our leave. I bid you a good morn.
Lady and her companion descended down the stairs and made her way out into the dawn amongst the other club dwellers.
This was indeed an interesting experience. We should really try that again sometime.
A ho! Perhaps Lady enjoys female companionship?
Hardly. I enjoyed the events. Don’t fill your mind with such rubbish.
Do not tell me with what to fill my mind. How else will I abide my time on this planet?
Mike did say one interesting bit of information. She too has a council which is far reaching. I wonder if that is a mere coincidence?
Not likely. Things as we know, happen for a reason. She is one not be trusted. I never trust beautiful people, with the exception of you my dear. That is why I am so trustworthy. I have the face only a mother would love.
It was not a wasted night at any rate. These earthlings are curious creatures.
With that Lady went into her enclosure and closed the door behind her to contemplate the night’s events. Lady glanced down to the street below before drawing closed the heavy velvet curtains. She removed her cloak and boots and place them on her arm chair. Lady entered the en suit bathroom and drew water from the faucet. As much as she enjoyed her journey to ground level, it left an uncomfortable residue on her body. That is one of the things Lady disliked about humans. They always leave their scent on objects. It left the Lady feeling unclean. After washing, she returned to her bedroom. After the blankets were carefully arranged around her figure, she quickly fell to sleep.
Our dwarven friend however was completely agitated. He did not like the draw that Mike character had on his friend. Lady might have existed for a longer time than most creatures, but she was not aware of all their traits and reasoning. Her curiousity might get the better of her. That was why the council elected him to accompany Lady on her travels. He was able to quickly discern those to be trusted. That Mike will leave me with nightmares. He tossed and turned until his eyes finally decided it was time to sleep.
