Stop The Spinning.....Please

I still am not quite feeling myself. I have the same sleeping habits as Rebel, which is not entirely bad. My mom always said if I found myself sleeping, it was because I needed to. That does make sense. Now if I can get this pressure out of my ears, I will back in business. I am actually feeling a bit more like myself today. I was very adventurous. I've been labeling my CDs and started working on my comic book again. I go through phases with this little project, like most of my projects actually. I go at it full tilt, then I put it down. It gathers some dust, then I start again. It's a vicious cycle.

I'm not sure what I will watch on television for the next little while. America's Next Top Model and Fringe aired their season finales. Does anyone have any suggestions?

While going through my CDs, I found this song that I absolutely loved when I was in high school. I thought I would share it with you:

Hope you are all healthy and enjoying the wonderful weather. Talk at yous later :)

I'm Icky :(

I once again find myself with a cold. This is not good. I suspect it is because my co-workers are experiencing this bloody so-called "change of life" and must maintain their workplace the temperature of a meat locker. So here I am, at home, watching the weirdness of furry kiddies.
This is Rebel's new place to hang out:

Every three weeks or so, Rebel likes to cycle through his favourite spots. Napoleon is not very fond of this place. Try as he might, he cannot penetrate the force and sneak in there beside Rebel. Rebel does not seem to mind. I believe it is the only place he can escape for a little bit.

Speaking of escapes.........
How is that for a transitional phrase?
I had to escape from my workplace for my lunch hour. I find that if I stay there, I get interrupted, frequently. Conversations start out something like this:
I know it's your lunch hour but....
Before you go to lunch, would you be able to...
etc etc...

I found this neat little park not far from where I work. It had wonderful scenery and was not very crowded. There was no one around. I had the place practically to myself.

Since I was home today and not feeling very motivated, I was looking at my Askew tank. It was not working for me. It is miles too short and tight. So, I ripped it apart and begun anew. I will just call the first version a draft.

I also decided to rip out my two socks at a time and try from the toes up. I have a better feeling about these ones as well. It is going way more smoothly the second time.

Rebel might be having a stressful week as well. I feel sorry for Hampton. He is looking a little violated.
I don't really want to explain their relationship. I believe the pictures do that justice.

It sort of looks like he is just giving Hampton a powerful hug.

Then you get closer and realize its with his sharp little toes and teeth.

I'm going to go veg over there and hope I feel better soon. Enjoy the long week end everyone.

Troubles :(

I am having a very difficult time signing onto Yahoo at the moment. I don't like when a machine wins. :( I have tried to un-install, re-install, and then just for kicks do it all over again. The end result is........I'm using Pidgin. :) C'est la vie.

With all the icky weather, I've sort of lost my momentum.

This past week end, we had hail and torrential downpours. It almost restricted our movements. We still managed to rent a few movies:
The Spirit. If you enjoyed Sin City, you might like this one. It has similar graphics and the same creator, Frank Miller. I was introduced to Miller's work through the comic Daredevil. Leave it to say I'm biased. I will watch just about anything this man has created or has had a hand in.
Also, Bedtime Stories, which I unfortunately know nothing about because some strange little fingers had the made the disc unreadable to our PS3 :(.
Parents, guardians, please do not let little people touch things that has to do electronics. Especially if you do not own the electronics. I'm sure they have the best intentions, however, they tend to be sticky little people.
Lastly, The Day The Earth Stood Still. I am a big fan of Sci-Fi. This is like Close Encounters meets Fire in the Sky. I enjoyed it. :)

I'm still attending the gym, knitting, work, etc., I just wish for the warmer weather. I'm what I would like to think of solar powered. I just seem to keep going when I've been fully charged by the sunlight. I used to think the SAD concept was just an excuse. Over the years however, I notice a lot of those symptoms with me. My solution is to try and just get out into the sunlight as much as I can.
I thought I would leave you all with a picture I snapped before while I was waiting for my ride into the city:

I am off to work on a summer inspired knit project and catch up on the remaining episodes of Dollhouse. Have a good week everyone. :)

Getting My Geek on at JoeCon

This week end was awesome. I actually left my comfortable surroundings and ventured into Hamilton. Husband had heard an announcement on the radio for a convention about G. I. Joes. I'm not sure if you can recall or not, but there was a cartoon in the 80s along with a long sting of comic books dating back from around 1942. I was not really sure what to expect. I had never attended anything like this before. I had gone to many knitting conventions, but I could always pretty much guess on who would attend such an event. This was out of my realm.

Here are a few of the pics I had taken:

Those of you who know me, know I can't ever just browse. I came home with a few things myself:

I will let you know that I did find it an interesting event. I'm not sure whether I would attend again. Who knows? I never actually thought I would have visited such an amusement to start. :)

Later that day we went to see X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I love those types of movies. For those of you who are die hard fans of the comic, do not compare the two. I would strongly suggest you take it as a movie and not base it on the comics or cartoon. That aside, I loved this movie. It kept up a very good pace. It had that humour I love about the Wolverine character. That is all I would ever ask of an action movie based on a comic book. They are separate mediums, each with their own merits and disadvantages. I even loved Ryan Renolds character. I heard a lot of negative things about Renolds portraying an action character. But I really liked him in Blade. I'm also a bit bias because I love Canadians actors.

Sunday we went to Husband's grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. That number alone is something hard to imagine. you only get 25 to life for imprisonment in Canada :P. It was quite the adventure to get to the event. There was an horrible accident on the 401. Apparently, a motorcyclist had tried to move through the transport. It was not successful. Since I had about three hours to kill while waiting in the parking lot, I just started to think about things. For instance, that motorcyclists had no idea what today would bring. He woke up. Probably did his morning ritual. Might have been coffee, reading the paper, surfing the net....who knows. Now he is lying in a hospital bed somewhere and will never be the same. He had his legs amputated. All the things he loved doing will never be done as they were again. So I guess the lesson learned is to take your time. We are only treading on this surface for a very short time. We might as well enjoy it to the best of our capabilities.
Alright then, enough serious thought for the time being. I'm off to work on my tank and watch In Treatment. Hopefully by the time my vampire hours start, World of Warcraft would have finished downloading. It has only been about 72 hours so far. :P
I hope you all had a pleasant Monday :)

All Recovered

We are all doing miles better. Rebel is no longer stoned, as far as I can tell anyway. My knee is back to looking somewhat normal. They are almost the same size again. I'm going to return to my schedule at the gym tomorrow evening. Napoleon is still traveling through the time and space continuum. Once in a while he settles close to his people.

I can tell Rebel is better because he is starting to get into mischief again, even though he claims otherwise. He is quite the clever creature.

Why what do we have here?

This looks interesting.

Tasty perhaps.

What do you mean I'm not supposed to be into this?

Then you shouldn't leave your things on the floor where I can see them!!

We went to Sparfest on Saturday. The husband had a few of his students in the event. Overall, they did none too badly for beginners. Here are a few pictures of the day's events. I'm thinking I may invest in a camera that takes better actions shots. The ones I took were very blurry. These are the ones that came out the best:

Oooooooh!!!! And most exciting of all...........TaaaDaaaa:

I finished my Entrelac Socks!

This yarn was fun. I know there are a few that would prefer to work with other types, but I just loved the weirdness of it. I found that while knitting earnestly away, I couldn't help but wonder which colour would make an appearance next. I even liked how it went from thin to chunky:

Overall, this was a fun little project. I would so use that technique again.

We are going to chill now and watch America's Next Top Model.

See you all later. :)

At Least Our Teeth Are Clean

I call these shots, the calm before the storm. Actually, it was also the calm after the storm.

Rebel and Napoleon engaged in some aggressive play time that resulted in some fur flying, literally.

Maybe they sensed my tension and ergo the reaction. It will grow back. I hope.

I don't know about you kind folks, but I've been suffering from a headache all week. It finally got the better of me. I stayed home yesterday and today. I just stayed holed up in the dark with it as quiet as possible.
We went out this morning to drop Rebel off at the vet. He was due for a teeth cleaning. He was not impressed. First he didn't get to have his midnight snack. Then, he wasn't able to have his breakfast. Next he gets tossed into his carrier and taken out to the truck. Let me tell you, he was one cranky kitty.

I'm very glad to have him safe and home again. So is Napoleon. He has not left Rebel's side since he arrived home.

Rebel is still a bit stoned. I'm hoping that wears off soon. It's hard work looking after a stoned kitty. I think he believes he has super powers and is trying to walk through walls and furniture and me.

Since I've been home for a few days, I've been working on my socks. Here is what I have so far:

I like how the colours are opposite to each sock. It was not my intention, but I will totally claim that was the effect I was going for if anyone asks.

On a weird note, my leg is just awful. It hurts to bend. So I have been avoiding that as much as possible. As long as I don't move, everything is OK. This is not at all practical as you can well imagine. Husband has hooked me up with a tension bandage. It is making things much more tolerable now.

I think I've covered most of what happened. I'm off to watch a few more episodes of Being Erica. Good night everyone. The week end is almost here. Soon we can get to doing the things we go to work to acquire. Night :)

A Pick Me Up

We are scheduled to have quite a bit of rain this week. I am not looking forward to that as every time we have rain, people forget their driving skills at home. It takes me longer to get to my destinations. Not that I am complaining of the driving, just I prefer the actual movement of the vehicle.

I'm probably just being all negative because we were spoiled with such lovely weather over the week end. The temperature was around 20 degrees. Just enough to give us a taste of warmer weather to come.

As I was waiting patiently for the traffic in front to move so I could make my turn, I noticed something:

I had written on myself and it wasn't even 09:30 yet!

How impressive is that?

This got me to thinking that perhaps other people have not had their day start just the way they wanted it to. Perhaps you would like a little chuckle as well? I found this ages ago. It was a blurb on the opening screen of my Hotmail account. You know the ones I mean right? They show these "interesting" little stories that have taken place amongst the rich and famous. Anyways, this one caught my attention and I thought I would share it with all of you:

Elmo is not usually one of my favourite characters. After watching this bit however, I may rethink that idea.
Have a good night everyone. Hopefully the rain won't impede your plans for the week.
