All Recovered

We are all doing miles better. Rebel is no longer stoned, as far as I can tell anyway. My knee is back to looking somewhat normal. They are almost the same size again. I'm going to return to my schedule at the gym tomorrow evening. Napoleon is still traveling through the time and space continuum. Once in a while he settles close to his people.

I can tell Rebel is better because he is starting to get into mischief again, even though he claims otherwise. He is quite the clever creature.

Why what do we have here?

This looks interesting.

Tasty perhaps.

What do you mean I'm not supposed to be into this?

Then you shouldn't leave your things on the floor where I can see them!!

We went to Sparfest on Saturday. The husband had a few of his students in the event. Overall, they did none too badly for beginners. Here are a few pictures of the day's events. I'm thinking I may invest in a camera that takes better actions shots. The ones I took were very blurry. These are the ones that came out the best:

Oooooooh!!!! And most exciting of all...........TaaaDaaaa:

I finished my Entrelac Socks!

This yarn was fun. I know there are a few that would prefer to work with other types, but I just loved the weirdness of it. I found that while knitting earnestly away, I couldn't help but wonder which colour would make an appearance next. I even liked how it went from thin to chunky:

Overall, this was a fun little project. I would so use that technique again.

We are going to chill now and watch America's Next Top Model.

See you all later. :)

At Least Our Teeth Are Clean

I call these shots, the calm before the storm. Actually, it was also the calm after the storm.

Rebel and Napoleon engaged in some aggressive play time that resulted in some fur flying, literally.

Maybe they sensed my tension and ergo the reaction. It will grow back. I hope.

I don't know about you kind folks, but I've been suffering from a headache all week. It finally got the better of me. I stayed home yesterday and today. I just stayed holed up in the dark with it as quiet as possible.
We went out this morning to drop Rebel off at the vet. He was due for a teeth cleaning. He was not impressed. First he didn't get to have his midnight snack. Then, he wasn't able to have his breakfast. Next he gets tossed into his carrier and taken out to the truck. Let me tell you, he was one cranky kitty.

I'm very glad to have him safe and home again. So is Napoleon. He has not left Rebel's side since he arrived home.

Rebel is still a bit stoned. I'm hoping that wears off soon. It's hard work looking after a stoned kitty. I think he believes he has super powers and is trying to walk through walls and furniture and me.

Since I've been home for a few days, I've been working on my socks. Here is what I have so far:

I like how the colours are opposite to each sock. It was not my intention, but I will totally claim that was the effect I was going for if anyone asks.

On a weird note, my leg is just awful. It hurts to bend. So I have been avoiding that as much as possible. As long as I don't move, everything is OK. This is not at all practical as you can well imagine. Husband has hooked me up with a tension bandage. It is making things much more tolerable now.

I think I've covered most of what happened. I'm off to watch a few more episodes of Being Erica. Good night everyone. The week end is almost here. Soon we can get to doing the things we go to work to acquire. Night :)

A Pick Me Up

We are scheduled to have quite a bit of rain this week. I am not looking forward to that as every time we have rain, people forget their driving skills at home. It takes me longer to get to my destinations. Not that I am complaining of the driving, just I prefer the actual movement of the vehicle.

I'm probably just being all negative because we were spoiled with such lovely weather over the week end. The temperature was around 20 degrees. Just enough to give us a taste of warmer weather to come.

As I was waiting patiently for the traffic in front to move so I could make my turn, I noticed something:

I had written on myself and it wasn't even 09:30 yet!

How impressive is that?

This got me to thinking that perhaps other people have not had their day start just the way they wanted it to. Perhaps you would like a little chuckle as well? I found this ages ago. It was a blurb on the opening screen of my Hotmail account. You know the ones I mean right? They show these "interesting" little stories that have taken place amongst the rich and famous. Anyways, this one caught my attention and I thought I would share it with all of you:

Elmo is not usually one of my favourite characters. After watching this bit however, I may rethink that idea.
Have a good night everyone. Hopefully the rain won't impede your plans for the week.

Awful Quiet in Here.....

I have always worked best at night. It feels like I have the entire world to myself. I can work on whatever what my little heart desires and not worry about any sort of interruption. Even the kiddies are asleep.

This is Rebel's spot at for the moment:

He seems to rotate his favourite spots every two weeks. Last week it was on top of my gym bag.

Napoleon is also tuckered out from whatever he did today.

I find it best if I don't know.

I was at home for about 30 minutes before I went to go pick up Husband at the gym. While I was checking my emails and looking at weird and interesting things online, the two of the them were tearing down the hall and jumping into the tub. I suspect they enjoy the loud thump. It is something to behold. Perhaps if I learn how to work the movie function on my camera, I can attempt to capture it.

As promised, here is my first completed Entrelac Sock.

I am really pleased with this. I worked on it steady this night while watching Being Erica on Surf the Channel. I like this show. I know I'm late to coming around, but so far, I love the concept. A thirty something who feels she has made too many mistakes in life. She has a ton of regrets and is given the opportunity to see if things would be different if she made other choices. I hope the show gets a second season.
I think I'm off to cast on the mate to the sock. Enjoy the week end everyone. I will check back soon. :)

Where to Start?

At the beginning, a very good place to start...........
I have still been going to the gym. It is getting a little more easier each time. I am starting not to have those tings of anxiety I get when I try something new. This tells me I am working this into my weekly routine. This is good.

To warm up, we do about 15 minutes on the stationary bike:

Then we start on the circuit that Husband has designed for me.
A few Leg Presses:

A few rowing moves:

Followed by crunches. I do not have a picture of crunches. It was getting ugly.

I have been knitting a fair bit this week end.
This is the part I'm at now for my Entrelac Socks:

These ending triangles are quite confusing. I'm thinking that I'm just thinking too much. How is that for a sentence?
As you can see, I've picked up the end stitches many times. They are starting to form their own live stitches. After I learn how to finish these triangles,I may try to make an arm warmer using this technique. It is quite a fun effort. I'm just a bit frustrated with the pattern. There seems to be some discrepancies.

We spent Easter with my parents. It was also a joint birthday celebration for my Mom and Husband:

I will not say their ages. I have been told not to. OK, more specifically, my Mom has requested I not mention it. Husband does not mind in the least if I say he is now joining the rest of us in the 30 year cohort. :)

We went for a walk and saw some interesting tracks. We felt like Mantracker.

Here are some turkey tracks:

Some coyote tracks:

And the most elusive of all, gnome tracks:

But hark........we spy him up ahead:

He moves awful quick. Not much time for sight seeing, but we did manage to fire off a few shots:

The drive home was nice. The sun was shining, there were no weather challenges and traffic was decent. We couldn't ask for better.

Here is another installment of what happens when Husband gets the camera:

I am glad we are home safe and sound. Rebel and Napoleon must have missed us horribly. They have not left our sides since we came through the door. That is just about the best welcome home I could ever ask for. I hope you all had a good Easter week end. Good night everyone. I am off to figure out my socks. When I have made it past that point, I will surely post the pictures of my efforts.
Night :)

Sucess

Eureka!! I have it. Thank you, thank you, thank you my awesome friend.
I have a very good and patient friend, help me through my little.........problem. I now have the tools to work this Entrelac like no one's business.

Now my tight security is guarding my work to make sure nothing corrupts my progress:

I finally got around to opening my mail from the previous month. I'm not sure why I haven't until this point. It's not like it is super stressful work. Long story short, look what I have:

My scarf from the Traveling Scarf group from Ravelry!

I have to be honest at this point. I was concerned about what would be returning to me after my little bit made it's rounds. I worked very hard on the parts I contributed to the other knitter's scarves. I was hoping they would do the same for me. I am not disappointed at all. In fact, I'm thrilled. I couldn't ask for better. My photo does not do the scarf justice. I could not get the entire scarf in the shot.
Napoleon was not exactly helpful in this task:

He is a very clever criminal, moving too quickly to be caught on film.

I hope the snowfall did not put on a damper on any one's week:

I'm just hoping it is gone before my long week end begins.

I leave with this

Maybe if I get this tune trapped in every one's mind, it will leave my brain alone. :)
Heeheee<< evil laughter.
I'm going to play X-Blades. Have a good night everyone. Stay safe :)

o_O

I've started my Entrelac Socks using my Noro yarn from my stash. I thought woohoo, the pattern that the International Sock group on Ravelry actually has Noro in the title. It must be fate. I must use my Noro and embrace the awesome colours. I am really excited about these socks. Unfortunately, I've hit a barrier. I'm stuck.

I followed my instructions as best as I could understand and here I am:

I have a lovely cuff and a row of triangles. At least they are colourful triangles.

I have decided at the early hour of 01h30, to put down the socks, walk away slowly and start something else until my attention span returns to last longer than that of a fruit fly. I am now starting my Askew tank. I found the pattern from the Knitty site.

I am using my Blue Sky Apalcas's Apalca & Silk from my stash. This feels so soft. I'm really enjoying how it moves through my fingers as I knit away and watch my remaining episode of Dollhouse. I really hope they do not cancel this show. The television programs I really enjoy always seem to disappear. (sad thoughts of New Amsterdam and High Incident circling around in my mind as I type this:()

We went shopping for a few items today. At the superstore, we found this:

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to bring it home. It was marked down to nine and some change. I tried doing some of the ball exercises at the gym. I did enjoy them. They were something I had not experienced before and gave me great satisfaction when I finally achieved the positions. The only problem is that the timing. When we finally get to the gym, there is always a class taking place which uses the balls. At least this way, I can do them in the privacy of my home watching something other than Sex in the City. That seems to be the only thing playing on one of the televisions at the gym. The other t.v.'s always seem to show poker. Thank goodness for the Ipod.
I'm going to look for some tutorials on Entrelac. Have a good night everyone.
