Been A Trying Week

I have not been feeling myself this week. I don't know who I've been, but it wasn't my main personality. It started with a very nasty cold last week end and went downhill from there. I haven't been to work all week. I've been literally floating around the apartment. The very nasty cold entered my ears on Tuesday and since then, I've been feeling surreal.
I did manage to catch up on all my shows. Being in a constant state of slow motion, allowed for such luxuries. It also allowed my wish list to get miles longer. I have caught up on all my episodes of True Blood. Now I am in want of the book series it was based on. I also caught up on Sancturary. Did you know it was first a series of webisodes? I had no idea such a thing existed. Now I have a whole new domain to conquer. Also caught up on Saving Grace, Weeds, Project Runway, America's Next Top Model. I may have a problem. Hello. My name is Jocelynn. I am addicted to television, and webvision, and reality shows, and and and.......

I have also completed one Ziggy sock.

I have started the mate. I will have to go back to this one and re-knit the band. I have made much too tight and I can't fit the bloody thing over my ankle. If it wasn't part of the contest on Ravelry, I would tear it back now. Since it is, I will complete the second, then do a re-fit. Well that is my plan for now. It may change by the end of the second one. I may just fire them to the back of the closet and hope they never see the light of day again. Then I will get filled with remorse at my lack of love for them and take them out. Apologize profusely and then lovingly re-knit them so they can be worn as they should.

OK
, enough with Cybil. My crack medical team has be on stand by all this week:

Rebel is just a bit annoyed that his little brother chomped clean through Turtle. That would be the object to our right. Froggy is still looking lickable. He has mounted a 24 hour surveillance on the premise while Napoleon rests from his hunt.

They definitely deserve some much needed R and R. Takes a whole Clowder to raise the dead.

I am very relieved I am feeling miles better. Tonight we are due to see Oktoberfist in Kitchener tonight. Husband has been looking forward to this even since he heard about it. We will be there with camera in hand to enjoy some great fights.
Hope you are all well. I wish you all a great week end.

Whoever Has the Most Yarn Wins................

..........and in this case, that would be Rebel.

It has been a very long week considering I was only at work for four days. I've been trying to be a good little knitter and get these Ziggy's off the sticks before the end of the month. This is the first pair of socks for this little Ravelry group that has given me a hard time. I'm on my third take now and I believe, I have finally got it:

I ripped them down once again and decided to hell with it. I'm going to do it right or not at all. So, I have re-casted and added six more stitches. I am so much happier with the result. The fit is more comfortable and I don't feel guilty anymore. I would hate to just finish them without any little love towards them. That just misses the entire point of a hobby. It is supposed to be fun. Something you enjoy to take the stress away from those little quirks of the day.

I love my drive into work as of late. So much colour and interesting things to see on the way.

Lately, I've been walking more as well. Last night, I was right into the Halloween spirit. Check out the moon. If that does not say Halloween, I don't know what does.

Well, okay, perhaps this:

Or this:

This week end, Husband and I will be celebrating our sixth wedding anniversary. It honestly does not feel that long. As both of us are sill suffering from these blasted colds, it will be very low key. So far, we have rented a few movies and I believe take-out will play a role.

Hope you all enjoy the week end. I know in my neck of the woods, it promises to be a very autumn day. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's night walk. Good night everyone.

Just Call Me...

Typhoid Mary, Bringer of the Plague.
I was suffering from a horrible cold earlier this week. Thankfully, I'm feeling much better, however.......I have managed to share my illness with.......everyone! Guess who's not very popular at work this week.

Since today was P. A. Day (students not attending school) we all agreed at work to wear jeans and just take it a little bit easier. I took it a lot easier.
I probably shouldn't have photographic evidence, but, I'm just really proud of my shoes and love to share.

I have had to restart my Ziggy socks. Again. It would seem the creative team has a thing with my choice of yarn. They keep absconding with the work in progress. Don't be fooled! They only look sweet and innocent.

Yes. Rebel is laying on an LCBO bag.

So here is my third attempt:

I'm finding this fit a lot tighter than what I'm used to. If I were to knit these again, I would cast on an extra 6 stitches to make them easier to wear. So far, they fit, just a bit tight.

And oh ho, what have we here?
A blue sky!

and the moon?
This was taken around 1700 today. It just caught me off guard to see the moon so early in the afternoon.

What are every one's plans for our long week end? Mine is laundry. We won't be traveling too far, as I have infected the Husband :(
Sorry Hun. Remember that bit about in sickness and in health? hehehehe.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

October Sky

We have had some very chilly weather this week. The skies have looked like something out of a movie, all dark and brooding.

Tonight however, was an awesome picture.

Since it was so chilly, we decided to stay in. I worked diligently on my Ziggy socks:

I have had to import the Baggy System because the strands get very tangled otherwise:

and Husband played Gods of War on PS2.

Napoleon was close by to supervise.

Let me share my little snack with you:

Ground cherries. They are amazing. You peel back the paper covering and inside is a very tasty little treat.

I've been listening to the radio a lot lately on my way into work. I'm very glad I started. There is a ton of new music out on the shelves. I picked up these on my outing today:

Next time, I will be looking for the Metallica, Econoline Crush, ACDC and Guns 'N Roses. I loved this group when I was in school. I have heard a few tracks and was quite happy and curious if they sound any different from how I remember them.

Well, I guess that is all my news for now. I am off to work on Ziggy for a bit before I decide to go to sleep. Have a great Sunday everyone!

OK, I'm Sorry :(

It would appear I owe my printer an apology. In return, I shall speak sternly with my media player. Apparently, that is where my dispute lies. I was finally able to extract my pictures from the memory card.
Here is the snack I was looking forward to:

And..........

Awesome cookies baked by the half naked man in the kitchen:

Yea cookies!

It was snack time for everyone:

Napoleon enjoyed some ice cream and Rebel tried to absorb the tasty treat through osmosis.
I don't understand the logic either.

I also completed my Bad Kitty Scarf:

Internal Bad Kitty:

I can't believe how long I had that one on the needles. I feel a very good sense of accomplishment.

Tonight was great.
I enjoyed some Laura Croft.

I love how the story moves along in this game. The mode I am playing in also does not require me to jump and shoot at the same time......for the most part anyway.

We were finally given the return of Dexter. I love this show. This season will prove to be as good as last I'm sure. They have introduced some new characters and a great sub plot is in the making. I won't spoil it for you. It's difficult, but I will behave.
Speaking of good television.....
Has anyone heard anything about the series Sanctuary that will start on Friday? It is on the Movie Network. It looks like a witch and vampire type of series. I have marked it down on a post-it note so I won't forget to watch.
Hope the start of the week is pain free for you all. I'm not really sure how mine will shape. I guess I will just have to go with it.
Have a good night everyone.

I Love Saturdays

Which Card are You?

You are Strength

Courage, strength, fortitude. Power not arrested in the act of judgement, but passing on to further action, sometimes obstinacy.

This is a card of courage and energy. It represents both the Lion's hot, roaring energy, and the Maiden's steadfast will. The innocent Maiden is unafraid, undaunted, and indomitable. In some cards she opens the lion's mouth, in others she shuts it. Either way, she proves that inner strength is more powerful than raw physical strength. That forces can be controlled and used to score a victory is very close to the message of the Chariot, which might be why, in some decks, it is Justice that is card 8 instead of Strength. With strength you can control not only the situation, but yourself. It is a card about anger and impulse management, about creative answers, leadership and maintaining one's personal honor. It can also stand for a steadfast friend.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

Good to know.

Today was great. I worked on this little sweater for a future human:

It will eventually look like that white and blue pictured:

Ah yes. It would appear they are both blue and white. OK. Mine will be the more white one. Does that make sense?

Rebel has been supervising:

He loves the eye lash yarn. I think that is one of the main reasons why I keep it. I don't really knit with it too often. I just can't bear to part with it. He actively goes into the bag where I store it and digs it out.

I played a ton of Tomb Raider. I love action games, especially if the lead character is a female who can kick some serious butt!

I also enjoyed my snack:
and at this point, I would share a lovely picture of said snack, but the computer will not allow that for the moment. Not sure why. :(

I also thought I would share a few pictures of my drive home from work. Since I required new brakes, I had discovered new ways to get home to avoid heavily trafficked areas. That silly need to stop. I just want to drive and keep going until I want to stop, not when someone in from me decides I should stop.

I have some really cool pictures of all the leaves changing around here, but the printer will not co-operate and remove them from the memory card. I am off to have a little chat with the printer.
I hope you all enjoy the week end. :)

Got a New Bag and Pair of Socks

I love my week ends. It is always a mini holiday for me, well for the most part. This week end I feel like I actually did something. When Husband and I were walking through the mall (a very dangerous shortcut), we stumbled upon this little gem:

It is the perfect size to fit my work gear.

and a cat or two,

My other purse (luggage) was beginning to look diseased. It was peeling, holes were forming, and was missing the zipper. It had a good life, but it was time to put it out of its misery.
This one looks to be quite durable. It's fabric is a poly-blend of some sort. It is also kitty approved.

I felt so productive. I had completed the Smelly Socks. They look just like the book. I'm so impressed with myself.

I am now able to focus my attention on the next pair of socks from the Ravelry group:

The beginnings of Ziggy.

I also finished a book I was reading, The Mistress in the Art of Death. I have started another:

I love sci-fi, witch and vampire stories, especially when the lead character is an ass-kicking woman. I'm also a sucker for a good picture on the cover. I know I should not judge a book by its cover, but it does get my initial attention.

While I was knitting up a storm, Husband baked muffins!!!

I've said this before, I absolutely hate cooking or baking or anything involving the stove. He loves it. So, he cooks, I enjoy. It's a win-win don't you think? Those are blueberry by the way. I think tomorrow will be chocolate chip cookies!

While all this domesticity was going on, I am now a brunette. The box said Honey Blond. It lied. Badly.

Not a great picture, but it was midnight. I'll take a better one a little later. I keep jumping when I see my reflections in the mirrors. I'm just not used to it. I do like it though. At least my clothes do not clash like they did when I was a red-head.

On our walk yesterday, we noticed these little guys mucking about on the sidewalk. We had never seen them before. If any of you know what they are, can you please let me know? I found them quite interesting.

They were like amped up ants on a mission.

I think I have filled you all in on what is going on in my little world for the time being. I'm off to enjoy my snack:

I hope Monday wasn't too harsh for any of you. Have a great evening.
P.S New episode of CSI Miami!!! We get to maybe see what in the world is going on with Horatio.
Night all.
