When last we spoke it was March. And it was really bloody cold.
Then April sprang up out of no where.
It was still really cold.
I was very happy though! My beloved Toronto Maple Leafs made the playoffs!
It was short lived.
They were eliminated by the Boston Bruins in seven games.
Still! That is a big deal.
If you are a Leaf fan, you will understand why.
I have been quite crafty.
I completed my shawl, Wind Rows Shawlette.
I am now working on a pullover, Jess' Birthday Sweater.
I do have pictures but, they are in my Ipod, which is charging downstairs.
The difference between the written pattern and what I have knitted so far is, I have cast on 200 stitches and so far, not done any shaping.
I am a bit on the lazy side as of late. Plus, I really like a baggy sweater.
With April came the start of spring hidden in all that snow.
We started to get a bit excited thinking, maybe, just maybe, Spring has sprung!
Then we had second winter.
No photos.
I was just a bit gobsmacked by it all.
Then more wildlife started to make appearances!
Now it's May!
We were so happy to discover our little Wren has returned!
The couple had disappeared so suddenly last summer.
They had built up their nesting spot and then all of a sudden they were gone.
This past week end, we heard that very distinct little chirp.
I looked out the back patio window and voila!
There he was hard at work on his little nest.
Just down from the Wren nest, we also have a Robin nest!
I don't know if they are exchanging parenting advice but, quite often the Robin comes over to see what the Wren is up to.
Few other feathery friends.
...and not so feathery...
The tulips are more visible! So are the Daffodils!
It is almost a scene out of Alice in Wonderland.
I don't know what these are. If any of you do, please let me know. :)
Finally I have been practicing my watercolours.
That was a longer post than I anticipated. That will teach me to skip a month.
Till next time!
