Two Weeks Until Hallowe'en :D

I just looked at my calendar at work today and realized that there is just two weeks left until Hallowe'en! This is my favourite holiday of the year. I wish the government would recognize it as such and give us the day to celebrate. It's already an event geared towards consumerism. We might as well go all the way.

I'm not sure what I will dress up as exactly. I know they will involve my new boots:

I will either be a superhero (or villain) or a very tall witch!

I have finished my Summer Socks!

I am so happy with them. I love the colour. It really shows the pattern.

I have something else I can share with you all:

It's a bit late for a picture, but these were our desserts for Thanksgiving dinner.
Husband baked these wonderful treats. I'm ever so thankful that at least one of us enjoys working in the kitchen. If it was left up to me we would be dinning on a copious amount of macaroni and cheese or popcorn.
It's our wedding anniversary this week end. Actually, its on Monday but, we always celebrate the week end prior. It's just more relaxing that way. We don't have to worry about work the next day and can take our time with whatever we have planned.

I hope you all stay warm this week end. I just read on our weather report that we may receive possible flurries. I'm so not ready for that at this time of year. :( Have a great week end. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

In Canada, it is our Thanksgiving. Husband and I are staying in and just relaxing. My parents are off to visit my sister, and my husband's family are on Pelee Island. This means quality time to spend with each other, our fuzzy children, video games and domestic stuff :).

Yesterday, we went for a walk to pick up a few supplies. We enjoyed the new autumn colours and the crispness in the air.

Someone else was outside enjoying the nice weather:

We returned home and spent some time with our TV. :) We watched the first few episodes on the new season of Dexter; and got caught up on our new fun show, Bored to Death.

Husband played his video game, Baroque and I worked on my summer socks.

I have never done a picot edge before.

This was surprisingly easy.

Today we will continue with our domesticity and finally do the laundry that has piled up for a few weeks. We will enjoy a nice bottle of Pelee Island Vidal. I am hoping to get to the heel of my socks and maybe start a new project this evening. I will probably be on Facebook playing all the little games to be found. It was sort of funny. There is a game called Yo'ville, where to earn money you bake things at the sweet shop. I returned today to find all my ovens blackened and the room filled with thick smoke. This is eerily too close to home. I might forgo this game for a bit. The Much Music channel has a marathon of Bring It On movie, so my need for guilty pleasures will be met. Our dinner will be lo-key tonight. We will have some poached turkey breasts, cranberry and some sort of veg. Most likely we will kill the bottle of wine and I will have a find a project that does not require much thought.

I hope you all are enjoying the holiday. I'm sure I am not the only one who has lots to be thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! :)
